Welcome to CanArts, the 4th Canarian International Arts Meeting 2026
From 3 to 5 July 2026, the municipality of Candelaria, in Tenerife, will once again become the epicentre of interdisciplinary artistic creation with the 4th International CanArts Meeting.
Under the title “CanArts, Canarian International Arts Meeting”, this event establishes a space for exchange among creators, researchers and educators, with the aim of promoting and disseminating the contemporary artistic scene both in the Canary Islands and internationally.
What is CanArts?
The 4th International CanArts Meeting is aimed at creators in music, the arts and the sciences; educators in music and other artistic disciplines; and researchers in music, the arts and the sciences. Its focus is on contemporary artistic creation of the 20th and 21st centuries.
All contributions, whether from creators, educators or researchers, must have an interdisciplinary nature that explores the relationship between music and other arts and sciences.
Our goal?
To explore the connections between music and other arts and fields of knowledge, promoting interdisciplinary creation and the dissemination of the Canarian and international artistic heritage.
Who is it aimed at?

An Interdisciplinary Experience
Under the motto “CanArts, Canarian International Arts Meeting”, this edition highlights:
-
The relationship between music and other arts.
-
The generation of knowledge at both local and international levels.
-
Cultural heritage as a link between regions and continents.
The programme of the Meeting includes seminars, presentations, round tables and other interactive formats designed to foster dialogue and collaboration between artists from different disciplines and academics. Its aim is to generate synergies, promote interdisciplinary creation in the Canary Islands and globally, and deepen the study of contemporary artistic heritage, both from the archipelago and internationally.
With a commitment to promoting knowledge transfer, this project brings together a team of academics and artists to research and disseminate results through academic publications and audiovisual content, available on the CanArts YouTube channel. The initiative seeks not only to preserve and document the history of music and the arts in the Canary Islands, but also to encourage, highlight and safeguard international artistic heritage. In this way, it fosters the creation of cultural links between different regions and continents, giving Canarian and international artistic heritage a prominent place in collective memory.
