Paula Hernández Dionis

PhD in Education, expert in Gifted Education. Professor of Music Education at the University of La Laguna.

Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Paula Hernández Dionis is a professor of Music Education at the University of La Laguna (ULL), where she carries out extensive research in the field of cello and double bass pedagogy. Her main lines of research include the relationship between music and Special Educational Needs, with numerous participations in international courses and conferences. She has a particular interest in training music educators in this area.

She holds a PhD in Education and is an expert in Gifted Education. She is a member of the research group on Diversity, Health and Education (DISAE) and of the Group for Education in Diversity (GIED). She currently combines her research activity with teaching and performance, and also serves as the president of the Spanish branch of the European String Teachers Association (ESTA España). She was recently a finalist in the Educa Abanca Awards, which recognize the best university professors in Spain.
