Emerging Creators and Researchers

Hybrid format: in-person and online.

CanArts, the III International Canarian Arts Meeting, is committed to providing opportunities and visibility to young emerging composers and researchers. A specific call is dedicated to them, aiming to support the dissemination and promotion of their work.

Submission of Proposals

Dates: Until April 7, 2025.

Technical Aspects for Participants

  • All authors must register independently of submitting their proposal (See PARTICIPATE-REGISTRATION).
  • Researchers can choose between communication or poster formats.
  • Proposals can be interdisciplinary and involve one or several authors, but presentations can only be made by a maximum of two individuals.
  • A maximum of two proposals per person or research group is allowed.
  • Duration for communication presentations: 10 minutes.
  • Preferred languages: Spanish and English.

    Proposals must be sent as an attached downloadable PDF and include the following information:

    • Full name(s) of the author(s).
    • Title of the presentation.
    • Affiliated institution.
    • Preferred thematic line(s) (up to two options, see thematic lines).
    • Abstract (300-500 words) including the topic development, justification, objectives, hypotheses, questions posed, and keywords.
    • Technical requirements for the presentation (e.g., computer, projector, audio).
    • Brief biography (maximum 200 words per author).

    Those applying for the poster format must include the same information as above in their proposal. If selected, they will have one month to submit their poster (deadline: May 30, 2025). Posters must be vertical and measure approximately 70x90cm.

    Selected Presentations

    Selected presentations will be announced starting May 5, 2025.

    Proposals will undergo a blind peer review by members of the Scientific Selection Committee. Accepted presentations will be eligible for inclusion in the meeting program. Following the event, a second selection will determine contributions for publication in a book (only unpublished material).
